In search of the SUN.

Aren't we all?

Searching... longing..... hoping and praying for the warm sunshine to show up and STAY for awhile.

If you live in the Midwest like we do -- I'm certain you are.

And I know someone else who is searching for that sunshine, too.

He's our boy -- our "brother" as the girls call him... our sweet, yet nutty pup who has basically been holed up in the garage during a LONG winter.

The past few mornings - he's been hard to locate after being let out to roam a little while.

I've called and called for him.

Worried he's run off to frolic with the many neighbor dogs (aka: his girlfriends).

Finally after strolling ALL the way around our house - I find him.

In the one little spot that is warm and sunny and comfy.
He looked up and acknowledged me, but wouldn't budge.

Nope .. he's not moving out of that one sunny spot.

And who can blame him?

The forecast is looking up around these parts.

The number 70 has even been tossed around.

I'm pretty hopeful it's true.

We even cracked the sliding glass today today .... a first in many months.

And enjoyed a cool, yet sunny breeze coming in as we munched our lunch.

It's been a long winter, yes indeed..... but the seasons and the changes they bring are quite amazing if you think about it.

During the cold months we get to anticipate and look forward to the change of seasons.

And one of the most majestic of changes comes when the true brilliant sunshine returns.

Sun can be warm on our shoulders. It can be blinding in our eyes. It can create a skip in our step and pull freckles out on our cheeks.

It brings us out of our homes and chit chattering on the street corner.  Onto the golf course and out on the boat.  It prompts us to crack a cold beverage and fire up the grill.

Oh summer -- how we missed you!

Mother nature has asked us to linger a little longer this winter season, but it will be worth the wait.

Cheers!! to 70 degrees this weekend.

We must believe..... and if nothing else find yourself a little piece of grass behind the house to escape for just a little while!

With love,
Cuz I'm the mama!
