Happy 7th month birthday to my beauties!

Wow - when I was 7 months pregnant it seemed like I had been in "that state" as Grandma Hazel would call it -  forever!!  Now - 7 months into being a mamma of twins it feels like time has flown by.  Ok - let's clarify.  To be honest during the first 3 months I don't have a ton of recall of the day to day happenings.  I was living in a fog, a daze, a haze....whatever you want to call it.  It was gettin' thru minute by minute - literally!!  But - since the girlies have started to, well, you know, SLEEP......the time has flown (snif, snif).  I am sure some would think I am a crazy lady, but I already miss so much about when you were first born.  I miss those brand new baby smells, sounds, and cries.  I miss that you were so tiny your skin didn't quite "fit" you yet.

I miss that we could easily hold you both at the same time...

But ... what I am learning is that the time to enJOY you is right NOW!  It goes by so quickly that if I don't enjoy it - I will miss it.  And, I have to forgive myself a little bit for not being able to "recall" everything about the first 3 months.  The sleep deprivation was necessary to make sure you were fed and healthy and that was worth all the sacrifice in the world!

So - at 7 months old you amaze me and daddy every day!  We are so proud of you for how much you have learned in such a short time.  We are so proud of how well you sleep and most of all how well you play together.  Our main entertainment these days it to sit and watch you interact.  It is a complete hoot and that is what we do .... hoot and giggle and smile at you.  Daddy and I feel very, very blessed and we want you to know that we love you more than we ever knew possible.

Your incredible bond with one another is hard to describe to people who aren't with you everyday like I am.  It's simply amazing. Whether you are on the floor playing, in your bouncey seats or in your bumbo chairs your favorite thing to do is be close to one other .... touching each other if possible.  If one of you is sad for one reason or another when your line of vision hits your sister you immediately break out a bright smile.  You are comforted by the mere sight of each other - it's obvious. And, you love to giggle together....back and forth.  I wonder what you are giggling about?  Come on - you can tell your mamma! I find myself feeling sad, at times, when I think of how fast this time is flying by, but then a wave of comfort comes over me knowing you are developing the most special friendship imagineable.  You have each other for today, tomorrow and for always and that is the most amazing thing about being a "twin".  When the day comes and you are more independent and less reliant on "us" - your daddy and I will be filled with both pride and nerves (and tears), but we will rest assured knowing you will be okay ... because you have each other.

Thank you, Lord, for this incredible blessing for my girls.

Okay - a few fun things you are doing "right" now:

Ms. K:
* Daddy calls you "Blueberries" because your beautiful blue eyes remind him of blueberries
* You are sitting up unassisted and you play with your toys like a little angel
* You have discovered your "voice" and you love to hear yourself scream
* You love to gurggle - especially right after your bath when we are putting your jammies on
* You have started to suck your thumb.  It's very sweet and brings you comfort
* You have a bit of fear of people you don't see very often and when they are around you keep your big blue eyes on mamma - very sweet!

Ms. R:
* You have become a little "ham" - making us giggle all the time!
* You are getting very, very close to being able to crawl
* You also sit up unassisted and play, play, play until you are exhausted!
*  You have had a few rough days lately and we think you are about to get your first tooth!
* You move constantly - whether its bouncing, kicking or just squirming - you are on the move!
* You love our pup, Hank, and want to grab his ears and whiskers as often as you can!

You are both such unique little people and have a special place in so many hearts!  Happy Birthday little beauties.  We love you to bits!!

With love,
Cuz I'm the mama!
