This is our 2nd annual hunt -- our good intentions of starting this tradition when the twins were babies was a bit sidelined... for ... ahem... obvious reasons. ;)
But - we're on track now... two years in a row of cutting our own Christmas tree!
And such fun it is.
The hubs has long-time family friends who own and operate a tree farm and so that's our Christmas tree headquarters.
The twins were SO EXCITED... in fact - they are excited about all things Christmas this year!
They said they recalled our trip there last year - and I really think they did!
As I said - it was a balmy 35 degrees yesterday... perfect weather for stomping around a tree farm!
I love these pictures because it shows how eager the girls are.
Dont' they look as if they are "in search" of that perfect tree!?
Papa R and Grandma J met up with us, too.. they live close and like to partake in all the fun!
And - we (daddy) actually spotted our tree fairly quickly, this year.
My one stipulation was that the tree was .. BIG .. so here's hubs trying to show me that it would darn near hit our ceiling.....
So, we all gave it the thumbs up!!
Grandma J gets credit for the family pic! ALL five of us looking at the camera at the same time?! That's amazing. Ms. A's expression and two left mittens crack me up the most.
And - just for a little fun comparison sake..... here's our pic from last year!! Oh how I miss my baby in her carseat and the twins in their oversized coats!
Back to this year --- in full disclosure -- the hubs cut the tree down so fast I missed the picture.
So, naturally I made him reenact the big cut for a photo!
As soon as daddy was done cutting.. he threw the tree over his shoulder and off they all went. The girls were so cute following after him.Ms. A couldn't quite keep up -- so she stopped to admire another tree! :)
After the big hunt - we went inside for cookies & cider before heading out to see the big buffalo. It was too dark for pictures, but we made it just in time.
Papa was holding Ms. A and as they walked away she waved and said... "bye bye puppies".
We all had a big chuckle over that!!
My very favorite picture of the day came early on .... when all three girls were stomping down the trail.... in search of the perfect tree.
It's in the presence of small children..... you witness the magic of Christmas. Their excitement is beyond description and deep inside you can't help but feel it too.
With love,
Cuz I'm the mama!

That's SO adorable! Our Christmas tree decorating was a little more harried than magical ;)
