Today my post is a little recap of what Ms. K and Ms. R are up to at 6 months and 10 days old. This was prompted by our 6 month well-child check-up that took place yesterday. They did so well at their appointment despite getting 3 shots. No fun! Both of my beauties are still a bit under the weather, but they are starting to slowly feel better. Ms. K seems more like herself today, but Ms. R is still needing a little extra TLC - I've got plenty of that for you my love. :)
Our dear Ms. K....you currently weigh 18 pounds and 14 1/2 ounces. You are 26.5 inches long. You are such a sweet, sweet baby. You are fascinated with simple things. You are willing to sit in your bouncy seat for quite a length of time and play with dolls and fuzzy animals and rattles. You are down right fascinated with your own little hand. We often find you lying on your back with your hand up in the air. You are very intrigued by your hands and if we had to guess you are probably thinking...."what does this do?". It's so sweet. You have started to eat some solid foods. You were not too sure about these strange foods at first, but now you are getting the hang of it. You are eating oatmeal cereal, pears, applesauce, peaches and your very favorite...bananas! You are very snugly with me and dad and especially early in the morning. We LOVE when you snuggle up to us! You are a really good sleeper now. You sleep almost 11 or 12 hours straight. Mommy REALLY appreciates this! Just recently you have started to really learn to bounce in your bouncy seat. Up until now you weren't quite so sure about all that bouncing your sister was doing. But, now, you have joined her and are enjoying some bouncing of your own. You have the biggest sparkly blue eyes and they are always so wide open. They are a window into your special soul. You have a very tender heart and sometimes get sad when your feelings get hurt. This is when dad and I rush in to make sure you are OK. You have a beautiful smile....one that melts our hearts every time we see it. You are "our" Ms. K and we love you so much.
Our precious Ms. R....your name says it all.....you bring us so much JOY everyday. You currently weigh 19 pounds and 1/2 ounce. You are also 26.5 inches long! You already have a wonderful personality and you light up a room. You have so many giggles inside you that they just burst out! We love listening to you laugh. In fact mommy has emailed videos of you laughing to many people and they have all enjoyed them so much. You have a very fun personality and you are willing to give almost anyone a big, bright smile. Your smile is so warm and beautiful it makes everyone who meets you instantly happy. You are a very, very active little girl. You LOVE to bounce. You bounce constantly! When you are on daddy's lap you bounce so hard that all we can do is giggle at you. You even bounce first thing in the morning. Each morning you wake up in such a good mood. Daddy loves to come in your room and say "good morning" and you just love that. You have also started to sleep on your tummy. You seem more comfortable this way and sleep all night long! You are a really good eater. You are eating solids now and you have always been willing to try each new food I give you. You are eating oatmeal cereal, pears, bananas and peaches. You have a messy face when we are all done, but it's a cute messy face. You also like to scream when you get really excited. It is so fun to watch you enjoying life. We can already tell that you are going to live a JOY-filled life because you have such an amazing little personality. We love you SO much Ms. R!
It is fun to talk about you as individuals, but I must also share how much fun you have together. You entertain each other with everything you do. When you are in your bouncy seats you watch and learn from each other. I often find Ms. K staring at whatever Ms. R is doing and then you both burst into laughter. It is sooooooooooo sweet. You also want to be physically close to each other. When you are on the floor you gravitate toward each other and 9 times out of 10 I find you holding hands. I can tell it brings you comfort to be touching each other. Ms. R is a little bit more mobile at this point and so she usually starts rolling or scooting toward Ms. K. One time recently she even tried to bite Ms. K's head! She was not too pleased, but got over it in a hurry. I can tell you are going to be such great friends. I can't believe 6 months have already gone by. Being your mom is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you for letting me be your mommy. I love you so much.
With love,
Cuz I'm the mamma!
