Egg-stra special Easter, 2012

Hello friends and family!

I am so behind on blogging... I literally "think" about doing it every single day, but somehow it gets put on the back burner.  I could probably get to it about 10pm, but truthfully I'm just collapsing into bed at that time.  Hope to get back to regularly scheduled posts soon -- but not holding my breath!

Onto more fun topics -- we had a delightful Easter weekend... for a few reasons!

FIRST -- Auntie J came to see us - and meet baby A! That was the Cadbury Cream in our eggs -- let me tell ya!  The girls were thrilled to see her .... but had some questions about where cousin H was hiding! We had so much fun having her with us -- memories we'll be chatting about for a long, long time.

SECOND -- Daddy was off from work .. all weekend long!

THIRD -- the weather finally cooperated around here and it was down right gorgeous (playing outside) weather.  Oh -- we've been longing for that.

So -- yes ... we had a really nice Easter weekend.

It started off with pure sweetness ... Autine J meeting baby A late Thursday night....a moment I'd been (im)patiently waiting for.

 Of course -- it was LOVE at first sight -- on both accounts!

We then spent the next few days soaking up time with Auntie J, visiting our local zoo, attending Easter mass and just hanging out together.

It was glorious!

It sure helped having an extra set of hands when it came to our day at the zoo!

We were reminded that .... yes -- having THREE kids means we are completely outnumbered and so Auntie J stepped in to rescue several times at the very busy zoo!!  We were so thankful for her help.

They had an Easter egg hunt set up for the little kiddos ... and it was pure genius.  Hundreds of eggs were scattered about on the ground, but the eggs didn't actually have anything inside.  The (age 3 and under) crowd was perfectly content to roam about and pick up (empty) eggs and discard them into a big tub as we left.  They hadn't a clue there was supposed to be "treats" inside.  It was one of those sweet, innocent moments I know will be long gone by next Easter.

We even had an Easter bunny encounter ... Ms. K was pretty sure of herself, while Ms. R wanted NOTHING to do with Mr. Bunny.  We had to kind of agree with Ms. R -- he looked a tad bit creepy!

Easter Sunday mass came early -- as in 8am.  I was a bit concerned about getting the girls up and out the door in time.  Not sure if you recall ... but last Easter it took three people to wrangle Ms. R into her dress (can't believe how much they have grown up since last Easter -- btw!).

Let's just say this year -- she did not disappoint.... hence no pic of her BEFORE mass .. only after a little TLC from daddy in church.

Ms. K was a little more obliging -- although not super happy to be plucked out of bed so early, either.  But once she had her purse in hand (thanks Gramma J) she was ready to go!

And -- Ms. A ... well, she was the most cooperative of all.  ;-)

By the time Sunday night arrived -- we were all pretty much exhausted from our fun-filled weekend.  It had been many months since we'd seen Auntie J and no one seemed to skip a beat.  We even asked her if she'd consider moving in with us to be our full-time nanny.......

To which she replied ... she'd certainly think it over and get back to us... ;)

Hope you all had a blessed Easter wherever you were celebrating.  Of course, we look forward to next Easter .. back home with all our family -- and I'm quite certain a big ole' egg hunt ... that will include candy-filled eggs!
