Grauntie Deb!

Looked who showed up in Seattle this weekend...!
It was the one and only ... Grauntie D!

She and Chuckie flew into Seattle Friday afternoon.  Chuck was able to take a quick peek at Ms. A before scooting off for a weekend of fun with his cousin who lives near Portland.

Grauntie D, Ms. A and I headed home (in the pouring rain which turned into blue sky and back to pouring rain in a matter of 30 minutes) to meet up with the big sisters.

Before doing that, though - I had a chance to show Deb a quick peek around our neighborhood.  She was quite impressed with the beautiful blooming vegetation.  She commented it far outweighed her expectations of the city.  She's quite a green thumb and so all the flowers were quite impressive.

Back at the home front....
The big sisters were of course delighted to see her.... warmed right up and the fun began!

We spent Friday night at home - as the weather was down right WET!
Saturday morning brought only partial sun -- so we waited until after naps to hit the park!
 Deb manned the big girls....
While mama was in charge of little sis. (Grauntie said mama needs more pics with the girls -- this is my attempt) ;-)
It was a gorgeous day!  After playing at the park it was time to introduce Deb to the neighborhood chickens!

She was quite impressed -- she is a "farm girl" at heart after all!

Once again the girls really enjoyed the chickens making it hard to convince them it was time to go.  Ms. R's wet diaper and promise of pizza finally did that trick!

We contemplated dining OUT for pizza, but upon better judgment -- we decided to pick up some yummy pizza and dine IN.

Wise choice in the end -- and thanks to GG for the yummy pizza.  We dined on her generous gift!

We all hit the bed pretty tuckered out on Saturday night, but Sunday morning brought more beautiful blue skies!

After breakfast we set out to show Deb the harbor near our house.  It's home to many BIG boats, house boats, beautiful trees and landscaping and of course -- the ducks and geese!

No pics of this event -- as we were working hard to keep everyone happy... but after our 4+ mile walk we were all feeling good!

Lunch and naps and then another trip to the park!

Grauntie pushed Ms. A all the way up the BIG hill to the park this time.  Big props to her -- she definitely proved to herself she is in good shape! Pushing a stroller up and down the hills around here is not for the faint of heart!

Here's Deb helping Ms. K smell the flowers.  The fragrance around her is quite lovely this time of year!
The girls finding interest in the foliage, too -- thanks to Deb!
And our ever-posing, Ms. K! Ms. R was just not willing to sit on the rock for a photo opp! Shocker!
No pics of daddy throughout the weekend as he was in Vancouver, BC running a half-marathon! And run he did!! He ran his best time in 10 years!! We are so proud of him!! His training paid off.

He returned Sunday afternoon in time to help us escort the girls home from the park.  Leaving the park is always the dreaded part (for all of us!) and so extra hands were appreciated!

Monday morning came all too quickly -- when Deb and Chuck reunited at the airport and headed back to MN.

A very quick, but FULL trip, indeed!

Deb mentioned this weekend -- she is a big fan of "last minute" plans.  This was certainly one of those times ... and it proves ... sometimes plans that fall into place spur of the moment are truly a gift we would have otherwise missed out on.

We racked up memories this weekend that we'll always remember and most of all smile about.

The big girls were still asking for Deb this morning..... and although it wasn't fun to see her go -- the best news is we'll be seeing her soon and very soon back home in MN!

Thanks for a very SPECIAL weekend!!!  We loved every minute!

With love,
Cuz I'm the mama!
